"It was my dream to get cap from either MS Dhoni or Virat Kohli" - Deepak Hooda

The right-handed batting all-rounder Deepak Hooda made his international debut for India in the first ODI against West Indies last Sunday. In the first ODI, the 26-year-old didn't get the opportunity to bowl but has done well with the bat.

Coming in at number six, he played a crucial knock with Suryakumar Yadav and both the batters stitched a beautiful 62 runs stand and helped their side to win the game. Deepak Hooda remained unbeaten on 26 runs.

And, in the second ODI, once again Deepak Hooda played a crucial knock of 29 runs by coming in at number seven and also scalped a crucial wicket of Shamarh Brooks who was looking dangerous on the other end.

In the end, India won that game as well against the visiting side West Indies and will be looking to whitewash them in the upcoming game.

It was my childhood dream to get cap from either MS Dhoni or Virat Kohli. Getting the cap from Kohli was an amazing feeling. I worked on sidelining the distraction and work on my process," said Deepak Hooda.

"Good things take time but keep yourself ready. Obviously, it is a blessed feeling to share the dressing room with Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid.

You always learn so much from them. I am just trying to learn from them. My goal is to keep working on my process with the same intent and not worry too much about outcome," Hooda added.
