T20 World Cup 2021: David Warner caught dancing with Dwayne Bravo after the match

Australia and West Indies have faced each other in the 38th match of the T20 World Cup 2021. Talking about the game, Australia won the toss and asked the opposition to bat first.

Chris Gayle give a decent start to the innings before being dismissed by Pat Cummins for 15 runs. The Nicholas Pooran followed him in the next over of Josh Hazlewood for a single-digit score.

Hazlewood also removed Roston Chase in the same over for a duck. Evin Lewis who was batting on the other end added a crucial partnership with Shimron Hetmyer and went back to the pavilion after scoring 29 runs.

Shimron Hetmyer also failed to convert his score and was gone after scoring 27 runs. The skipper of the West Indies, Kieron Pollard stood strong on the other end and added 44 runs for his team. Then Andre Russell played a quickfire of 18 from 7 balls and helped his team to post a competitive total of 157 runs on the board.

It felt satisfying to be there and hitting the winning runs, says David Warner

David Warner - Aaron Finch

Chasing the target of 158 runs, David Warner and Aaron Finch opened the innings as usual for Australia. Akeal Hossain removed Aaron Finch for 9 runs but David Waner looked unstoppable on the other end.

Mitchell Marsh, the new man who joined with the left-hander started to dominate the opposition bowlers all around the park. Both the batsmen completed their fifty and set the platform for their side.

However, Chris Gayle who was playing his last match in international cricket had got a wicket off his final delivery of Mitchell Marsh. Still, it was clear that Australia was in the driver seat, as David Warner scored the winning runs for his team.

He also caught while dancing with Dwayne Bravo during his farewell and had a few words in the post-match ceremony. "It felt satisfying to be there and hitting the winning runs. The key was to come out and play my natural game, target the bowlers upfront.

Obviously, the slow bowlers bowling with the new ball there needs to be some adjustment, especially with Akeal Hossain who was swinging it and hard to get away with," said David Warner.

"For me, it is about targeting the first two balls of the over and Marsh coming in and playing that knock was outstanding. The bowlers have been outstanding. Last game was clinical and tonight to come out and bowl the way they did, we knew they would come hard at us and would keep coming even if they lost three wickets, to restrict them to a competitive total was a good job," David Warner in the post-match presentation.
