Watch - Alastair Cook brings out an entertaining crab-like bowling run-up during a game in the County Championship

The former England cricketer and skipper, Alastair Cook was one of the best batters, especially in the longest format of the game. The left-handed batsman has represented England across 161 Tests where he mustered 12472 runs that he played at an average of 45.34 and has also smacked 33 hundred and 57 fifties under his belt.

The 37-year-old has announced his retirement way back in 2018 and now representing the Essex team in the County Championship tournament.

However, one of his recent videos has caught the attention of the fans who are roaming the social media platform. In that video, the left-handed batter was seen bowling like a fast bowler by stretching his arms and watching the off-side fielder.

However, the video was from the match between Essex and Kent where Alastair Cook has once again shown his batting province by smashing 100 runs for his team.

It was completely out of my control: James Anderson

James Anderson

Without any doubt, James Anderson is one of the legendary pacers to be present in modern-day cricket. But things are not going well for the veteran pacer as he has been omitted by his national team during the Test series against West Indies.

In that case, the 39-year-old expressed his emotions on Monday and said, "I’ve stopped trying to make sense of it and just put it to one side. It was completely out of my control.

I’ve got to focus on what I can control and that is bowling as well as I possibly can (for Lancashire). Something like this, for me, it’s quite a big deal because it came out of the blue a little bit. I still feel like I’m bowling well," Anderson was quoted as saying by CricTracker.

"I was in the top 10 of the world rankings so I feel like I’m doing a good job for the team. After an Ashes defeat everything comes under scrutiny. There are lots going on, people losing their jobs and stuff.

I would have loved a sit-down, face-to-face, but obviously, that’s not always possible in these situations. I would have loved more than a five-minute phone call, but again that’s not always possible," the 39-year-old added further.
