‘Disappointed but looking forward to coming back stronger’ – Kuldeep Yadav after being ruled out of SA T20Is

 

After an outstanding performance in IPL 2022, Kuldeep Yadav was expected to make an impact in the ongoing home T20I series against South Africa, but he was ruled out of the five-match series after being struck on his right hand while batting in the nets before of the opening game in Delhi.

The wrist-spinner has finally spoken out about his dissatisfaction. Nonetheless, the Uttar Pradesh batsman has pledged to return stronger, while also hoping that his Indian teammates will put up excellent performances in this series.

Kuldeep wrote, “Disappointed to miss out on the SA series due to an injury, but I am sure the boys will give their best on the pitch, and I am backing them all the way. Looking forward to coming back stronger.”

In addition to Yadav, India's stand-in skipper KL Rahul has been ruled out of the series owing to a groyne ailment. As a result, Rishabh Pant has been entrusted with the captaincy.

Returning to Kuldeep, he was transferred to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru for rehabilitation, and his homecoming is yet to be determined. The left-arm spinner will be hoping to make a full recovery in time to be selected for the away series against England next month.

The Kanpur cricketer had a fantastic IPL 2022 season, taking 21 wickets from 14 games at an economy rate of 8.44, with his best stats of 4/14. In fact, as a member of the Delhi Capitals, he has two four-wicket hauls this season. Meanwhile, after being asked to bat by South Africa captain Temba Bavuma, India are aiming for a massive total in the first T20I at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.
