Mitchell Marsh pulls out of IPL 2021; Replacment announced

Just before the start of IPL 2021, the Sunrisers Hyderabad have been hit by a huge blow as their all-rounder Mitchell Marsh decided to not play the upcoming edition of IPL.

He has pulled out of the upcoming season of IPL due to his inability to spend more time inside the bio-secure bubble. The players will have to enter the bio-bubble when they join their respective teams.

They can't go outside until the completion of the tournament. So, Marsh has decided not to spend the next couple of months in the bio-secure bubble. He has informed to the BCCI and SRH a few days back.

The all-rounder has to quarantine himself for 7 days before entering the bio-secure bubble for his team. He also missed most of the matches last year's IPL after he was picked by SRH for INR 2 crore in the auction.

In their very first game of IPL 2020, he twisted his ankle and was ruled out of the tournament. Later, the tournament replaced him with Jason Holder who has done well as an all-rounder.

Mitchell Marsh's replacement:

As per the reports, the SRH franchise has already roped in a replacement for the Australian all-rounder. They confirmed Jason Roy as the replacement for the right-handed all-rounder.

Roy was unsold in the 2021 auction but impressed everyone in the limited-overs series against India. He has already played for Delhi Capitals in the IPL but could not deliver as per the expectation.

The Sunrisers Hyderabad will play their first game in IPL 2021 against Kolkata Knight Riders on 11th April.
