David Warner story goes viral as SRH announce new captain for the rest of the IPL

Sunrisers Hyderabad had a decent season in the last edition of the Indian Premier League. They went on to finish at the third spot under the captaincy of David Warner.

In IPL 2020, they qualified for the playoffs where they knocked the Royal Challengers Bangalore out of the tournament in the eliminator. However, they were knocked out by Delhi Capitals in the second qualifier.

However, they have failed to perform up to the expectations in the ongoing season of the cash-rich T20 league. SRH lost three consecutive games and is struggling to win the games.

David Warner's Sunrisers Hyderabad has played six games so far and won just one game while lost five games. With just two points in hand, they are currently at bottom of the table.

Apart from a win against Punjab Kings, their performances were not up to the mark. In order to do well in the remaining games, the team management decided to appoint a new skipper for the rest of the season.

SRH appointed Kane Williamson as captain:

Since there is no improvement under the captaincy of David Warner, they have decided to hand over the captaincy to Kane Williamson. The skipper of New Zealand already led them to finals in IPL 2018 and 2019 seasons.

β€œThe decision has not come lightly as the management respects the enormous impact David Warner has had for the franchise over a number of years. As we face the remainder of the season we are sure David will continue to help us strive for success both on and off the field,” the club added in a statement.
