ICC bans Heath Streak for 8 years after breaching the Anti-Corruption Code
Heath Streak is one of the best players that Zimbabwe has ever produced. Currently, the 47-year-old has grabbed the headlines after being banned by International Cricket Council (ICC) for a span of 8 years for breaching the Anti-Corruption Code.
Streak had represented Zimbabwe in 65 Tests and 189 ODIs and amassed 1990 and 2943 runs including a hundred and 24 fifties to his name. With the ball, the 47-year-old has bagged 455 wickets on the international arena.
Heath Streak has accepted all the five charges made by ICC on him regarding the corruption of "facilitating approaches by corruptors" which took 3 years for ICC to complete the investigation.

"As a former captain and coach, he held a position of trust and owed a duty to uphold the integrity of the game. He breached the Code on several occasions, including facilitating the approach of four other players. At times, he also sought to obstruct and delay our investigation," he further added.
"The offences did not affect the outcomes of any relevant matches and Mr Streak has agreed to assist the ICC anti-corruption education programme for which we are grateful.
He has also expressed his remorse and contrition and entered this agreed sanction decision to avoid the need for a full disciplinary process. The sanction reflects this cooperation," Marshall signed off.
Considering Alex Marshall's statement, the 47-year-old will not be available for the next 8 years as he has been banned by ICC.
