Chahar and Kishan both are added to the India A-squad for the South Africa tour

Both are in Calcutta for the third T20I against New Zealand and will leave with the squad on November 23rd

Deepak Chahar and Ishan Kishan have been added to India A's squad, who will travel to South Africa for three four-day games. Chahar and Kishan are in Calcutta for their third T20I against New Zealand and will leave the squad on November 23rd. "Yes, Deepak and Ishan have joined the squad. They will finish the game in Calcutta and join the A-Team before leaving for South Africa," a senior BCCI official told PTI.

Deepak Chahar and Ishan Kishan will soon join the India A team in South Africa. The two Indian cricketers, who are currently in Calcutta with the T20I national squad, will fly to Bloemfontein on Sunday (November 21) after the third and final game of the current series against New Zealand has been completed.

The team led by Priyank Panchal reached Bloemfontein a few days ago for the three-game red ball series. Chahar and Kishan will meet and fly from Mumbai on Nov. 24, with the possibility of Shardul Thakur joining the squad at a later date.

The inclusion of Kishan and Chahar is in addition to Hanuma Vihari, who was added late to the 14-person team originally announced on November 9 by the selection committee headed by Chetan Sharma. Kishan will be the second wicketkeeper in the squad who only has Upendra Yadav as the glove man of choice. Chahar will be the reinforcement in the pace bowling department, which has four quicks - Navdeep Saini, Umran Malik, Ishan Porel and Arzan Nagwaswalla.

The A-Team play three four-day games, all in Bloemfontein, with the first game starting on November 23rd. The second and third games will start on November 29th and December 6th, respectively.

Coaching staff

The team's support staff is headed by head coach Shitanshu Kotak. Sairaj Bahutule has been named bowling coach and T Ghosh has been named field coach for the team. Tulsi Ram, a physiotherapist at the National Cricket Academy (NCA), traveled as a trainer with Vivek Ramakrishna, also from the NCA.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) dispatched the selector Harvinder Singh for the 25-day tour and chartered the initial 26-person squad directly to Bloemfontein so that they do not have to be quarantined. However, upon arrival, players were cautioned that their movements in the Free State Province city would be limited to the ground and the hotel only.
