IPL 2022: KL Rahul likely to lead Lucknow franchise for the next season

The 14th edition of the Indian Premier League has ended up grandly, as Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings clinch the title for the fourth time in the history of the Indian Premier League. After Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings were the successful franchise as they missed out on the playoffs only one time in the cash-rich contest.

They are well known for their consistency and has four titles in their cabinet. However, the Men in Yellow will be looking to clinch the upcoming title to equal the Rohit-led Mumbai Indians as they have won five titles under their belt.

However, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the retention policies ahead of the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League. They stated that only 4 players were allowed to retain by the franchise with two new additional teams in it.

CSK is going to retain MS Dhoni for IPL 2022:

The Chennai Super Kings is one of the most-loved franchises all around the globe. They have achieved a lot of feats under the leadership of MS Dhoni who has been one of the successful captains of the modern era.

According to the reports, BCCI has asked the eight teams featured in the IPL 2021 to finalise the four players that they are going to retain. It is likely to be announced by December as the two new teams have to retain their players.

So, the winners of the previous edition, Chennai Super Kings will be looking to defend their title in the upcoming season. Considering the reports from Indian Express, the CSK management has decided to retain MS Dhoni ahead of the IPL 2022.

Moreover, KL Rahul is likely to leave the Punjab Kings franchise in the upcoming edition of IPL. In addition to that, some of the reports claim that KL Rahul is likely to lead the Lucknow franchise in the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League.
