Aakash Chopra named his top five best Test batsman of 2021

 

A few days ago, the former Indian cricketer and expert Aakash Chopra has named his top five best bowlers in Test cricket of 2021. In addition to that, the 44-year-old has also picked the top five best batsmen in Test cricket of 2021.

He named those players in a video posted on his YouTube Channel. Surprisingly, the former Indian cricketer two batsmen from the Indian cricket team and included them in his list. He named the Pakistan cricketer Fawad Alam in his list of top five Test batsmen, as he has featured in seven matches for Pakistan this year where he amassed 513 runs that he played at an average of 57.1.

After that, he named the Sri Lankan batsman Lahiru Thirimanne who has got a spot on his list. The left-handed batsman has represented Sri Lanka across seven games this year and accumulates 659 runs that he played at an average of 50.6. 

Who is the number one batsman according to Aakash Chopra in 2021?

The former Indian cricketer continued and named the Indian wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant at number three. Rishabh Pant is well known for his swashbuckling performance in the limited-overs format, but the youngster has also impressed in the longest format of the game.

He has featured in 11 Test matches where he piled up 706 runs while batting at an average of 41.5. Moreover, he is the fastest wicket-keeper to reach 500 runs in the Australian backyard. 

Moving on, Rohit Sharma has been added to the list of Aakash Chopra at number four. There is no doubt that Rohit Sharma is one of the dangerous openers in modern-day cricket. But he has missed a plethora of Tests due to sustaining injuries.

The right-handed batsman has played 11 matches in the longest format of the game where he amassed 906 runs that he played at an average of well around 48, including two hundred to his name.

Without any doubt, Joe Root is in the form of his life, as he has featured in 12 matches for England where he smacked 1455 runs which consist of 6 centuries and a double hundred as well.
