WPL 2023: Watch - Harmanpreet Kaur celebrates wildly after Smiriti Mandhana's wicket during Mumbai Indians Women vs Royal Challengers Women match

 

Mumbai Indians Women went on to clash with Royal Challengers Bangalore Women on 6th March, Monday at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. Talking about the match, Smriti Mandhana won the toss and elected to bat.

Batting first, Mandhana's side has been bowled out by the opposition for 155 runs. None of the batters from Royal Challengers Bangalore Women scored over the 30-run mark in this game.

Chasing the target, the West Indies star all-rounder Hayley Mathews provided an excellent start and went on to finish the game along with Nat Sciver-Brunt. Both the batters went high on the opposition bowlers as they remained unbeaten on 77 and 55 runs respectively.

Hayley Mathews slammed 13 fours and a six whereas Nat Sciver-Brunt played a vital role by smashing 9 boundaries and a six to her name. In the end, Mumbai Indians Women won the game very comfortably with 9 wickets and more than 30 balls in hand.

Winning the game against Royal Challengers Bangalore Women, Hayley Mathews heaped praises on Mumbai Indians during the post-match presentation as they give her the freedom she wanted in this league.

"There wasn't much difference, was able to bat a bit longer today, the freedom in this MI team has given me plenty of confidence. They're going well at the moment, watching the ball nicely and the ball is coming on nicely.

They did put me under pressure in the 1st over, but it was nice to come back well. We've so many match-winners in the team and Harman is leading us well," Hayley Mathews was quoted as saying as same as in Cricbuzz.

Besides, during the game, Mumbai Indians Women skipper Harmanpreet Kaur was seen celebrating the wicket of Smriti Mandhana by running towards Hayley Mathews who grabbed the catch.
