WPL 2023: Watch - Ashleigh Gardner misses out an easy run-out chance of Smriti Mandhana, gifts an extra life

 

The Australian all-rounder Ashleigh Gardner gifts another life to Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Smriti Mandhana as she misses an easy run-out chance of her. Coming to the ongoing battle between Gujarat Giants and Royal Challengers Bangalore Women, Sneh Rana won the toss and decided to bat.

Megan Schutt provided the first breakthrough for RCB Women by dismissing Sabbhineni Megana for 8 runs. However, Sophia Dunkley and Harleen Deol took the situation under their control and put up a crucial 60-run stand for the second wicket.

Then Sophia Dunkley had to walk back after being dismissed by Shreyanka Patil for 65 runs. After her dismissal, Harleen Deol continued her stints with the bat and once again she added an important partnership for the 4th wicket with Ashleigh Gardner.

The Australian all-rounder was removed by Heather Knight for 19 runs. Following her, Dayalan Hemalatha smashed a few boundaries and ended up her inning scoring 16 runs from just 7 balls.

In the end, the vital knock of Harleen Deol comes to an end after she was dismissed by Shreyanka Patil for 67 runs. Gujarat Giants finally managed to put up a massive total of 201 runs on the board.

Smriti Mandhana and Sophie Devine opened the innings for Royal Challengers Bangalore with a huge target on the board. Both the batters provided a fantastic start before the skipper departs after scoring 18 runs for her side.

After that, Ellyse Perry joined with the New Zealand cricketer and took on the opposition bowlers all around the park. However, she was not able to stand till the end of the game as Mansi Joshi forced her to walk back with number 32.

After that, Sophie Devine had to walk back after a long fight as she ended up her inning scoring 66 runs which consists of 8 fours and 2 sixes. Heather Knight played some valuable shots in the end and scored an unbeaten 30 runs from just 11 balls. After all, this will be the third consecutive loss for Royal Challengers Bangalore Women in this tournament.
