A few months ago, Nicholas Pooran-led West Indies have gone face to face against Australia on 5th October, Wednesday at the Carrara Oval in Queensland. Having a look at the game, Aaron Finch, the skipper of Australia won the toss and invited the visitors to bat.
Batting first, West Indies posted a decent total of 145 runs on the board. Kyle Mayers was the highest scorer for the Men in Maroon who added 39 runs with the help of 5 fours and a six.
Odean Smith tried his best with the bat by coming down the order and smashed 27 runs before being run out by Matthew Wade. Chasing the target, the Australian batters struggled to score runs against the opposition bowlers except the skipper Aaron Finch.
The veteran batter stood firm on one end and added 58 runs by smashing 6 boundaries despite losing 5 wickets for just 60 runs. In the end, Matthew Wade took charge and finished the game for his side as he remained unbeaten on 39 off 29 balls.

Guys are disappointed, happy the way the guys came out and fought, the important moments we did not capitalise, having said that catches win matches," Nicholas Pooran was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz.
"The guys came off a plane two nights ago. We have the World Cup Qualifiers as well to play here. Really pleased with how Mayers batted, Cariah on debut and Joseph bowling really well today. Maybe if we had taken the catch in the last over, we could've won, but we learn from it, accept it, embrace it and move on," he added.
