Watch: Umran Malik hits Suryakumar Yadav's helmet with 153 kmph bouncer

Sunrisers Hyderabad's Umran Malik, who has already established a name for himself in the IPL 2021 with his blistering speed, clocked 152.95 against Mumbai Indians in Abu Dhabi on Friday. Later, with a brisk bouncer, the 21-year-old jolted Suryakumar Yadav awake and necessitated a concussion evaluation.

On the third ball of the 19th over, Mumbai Indians batsman Umran Malik registered 152.95 kph on the speed gun. Lockie Ferguson's previous season delivery of 152.75 kph was surpassed with this delivery, making it the fastest ball in IPL 2021.

A fluent Suryakumar Yadav smashed one of his 13 fours and three sixes in a remarkable 40-ball 82 to find the extra cover boundary. In the next two balls, Umran delivered a quick bouncer, which the batsman misjudged while trying to pull and ended up being stuck in the helmet. After a concussion test, Yadav was cleared to bat but was eventually bowled by Jason Holder in the last over.

Coming to the match, the skipper Rohit Sharma decided to bat after winning the toss against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Though they knew that they would need a win with a big margin, they decided to smash the bowlers from the very delivery.

The left-handed pocket dynamo Ishan Kishan was busy sending the balls all around the park. He scored 84 runs off just 32 deliveries with the help of 11 boundaries and four sixes.

Though the likes of Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya and Kieron Pollard could not play up to the expectations, Suryakumar Yadav, who looked in tremendous touch, plundered 82 off 40 with the effortless shots.

With the help of Ishan and Suryakumar's brilliant knocks, they posted a mammoth total of 235 on their board. They should restrict the SRH by 65 runs if they want to qualify for the playoffs.

While chasing a huge target, Jason Roy showcased his destructive skill as he scored 34 off just 21 deliveries before getting out to Trent Boult. As of writing this article, with already SRH scored over 65 runs, the Mumbai Indians are officially out of the IPL 2021.
