Watch: Shaheen Afridi has engaged in a heated exchange with Sarfaraz Ahmed in PSL 2021

Quetta Gladiators and Lahore Qalandars faced off each other in the 23rd match of the Pakistan Super League 2021. Sohail Akhtar, the sipper of Lahore Qalandars had won the toss and decided to field first. Lohore got a good start to their innings as they removed Usman Khan and Cameron Delport for 0 and 10 runs.

But Jake Weatherland played a crucial role for his team and added 48 runs just missing his fifty by 2 runs. Then Sarfaraz Ahmed and Azam Khan added 43 runs for the 4th wicket partnership before James Faulker gives the breakthrough for his side. He came back once again and removed Azam Khan who scored 33 off just 18 balls.

In the end, Quetta Gladiators managed to post 158 runs on the board. However, the opposition bowler Shaheen Afridi and the skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed had a heated conversation at the end of the 18th over of the game.

Summary of the match:

Lahore Qalandars had to chase 159 runs that were posted by the opposition coming back to the game. Despite having a decent target, Lahore didn't get the expected start from the openers. Usman Shinwari had sent the opposition captain back to the dugout for a duck.

Following him, Mohammad Hafeez, Fakhar Zaman and Zeeshan Ashraf came back to the pavilion before the end of the powerplay overs. The wicket-keeper batsman Ben Dunk and Rashid Khan also been removed by Mohammad Nawaz for 6 and 8 runs. Tim David was the lone warrior who scored 46 off 27 balls, including 4 boundaries and 3 sixes.

James Faulkner, Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf played a decent cameo by coming down in the lower order. In the end, Quetta Gladiators won the match with a margin of 18 runs and are still rooted on the points table.
