Watch: Shaheen Afridi deliberately injured Afif Hossain by throwing the ball back at him

 

Both Bangladesh and Pakistan competed with each other in the 2nd T20I at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka on 20th November, Saturday. The skipper of Bangladesh won the toss and opted to bat first.

They didn't get the expected start from their openers Mohammad Naim and Saif Hassan, as both the batters returned to the pavilion with the numbers 0 and 1. However, Najmul Hossain Shanto and Afif Hossain played well for their side and added 46 runs for the third wicket partnership.

Then Shadab Khan removed Afif Hossain for 20 runs and went on to pick the wicket of Shanto as well. Bangladesh's lower-order didn't perform up to the expectations and posted a decent total of 108 runs on the board.

Both Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan opened the innings for Pakistan while chasing the target of 109 runs posted by the hosts, Mustafizur Rahman provided an excellent start for his team as he sent back the opposition skipper, Babar Azam for just 1 run.

But Mohammad Rizwan and Fakhar Zaman played well throughout the match and added 85 runs for the second wicket partnership. Bangladesh bowlers went clueless against them as both the batters continuously rotated the strike and smashed boundaries when needed.

Still, they tried to bounce back in the match when they removed the settled batsman Mohammad Rizwan for 39 runs. But Fakhar Zaman, on the other hand, took away the match from the hosts and Haider Ali assisted well from the other side.

In the end, Pakistan beat Bangladesh by 8 wickets and more than 10 balls to spare. Besides, there was an incident that took place during the first half of the match. Shaheen Afridi throw the ball towards the batsman that hit him on the legs.
