India and England faced off each other in the warm-up match of ICC T20 World Cup 2021. The skipper of Team India, Virat Kohli won the toss and asked the opposition to bat first.
Both the openers Jason Roy and Jos Buttler gave a flying start to the innings and added 17 and 18 runs before being dismissed by Mohammed Shami.
Then David Malan came in and played a decent cameo of 18 off 18 and was sent back to the dressing room by Rahul Chahar. After his dismissal, Jonny Bairstow and Liam Livingstone teared up the Indian bowlers in the middle-overs and added 52 runs for the 4th wicket partnership.
Once again Mohammed Shami did the job and removed Liam Livingstone for 30 runs. Then Jasprit Bumrah removed the dangerous Jonny Bairstow who missed his fifty by just one run.
However, Moeen Ali stormed into the field and tore the Indian bowlers and scored 43 off just 20 balls. At the end of the first half, England posted a challenging total of 188 runs on the board.
Summary of the match:
In the second half of the innings, KL Rahul and Ishan Kishan opened the account for India as they did in the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League. Both the batsmen started to dominate the opposition bowlers all around the park.
KL Rahul bring up his fifty in just 23 balls and was sent back to the dugout by Mark Wood. The bad form of Virat Kohli still continues as he once again warmed the bench with the number 11.
However, Ishan Kishan looked unstoppable on the other end and he continued the trend along with Rishabh Pant. Ishan Kishan returned to the pavilion after scoring 70 off 46 balls including 7 fours and 3 sixes.
Then Hardik Pandya and Rishabh Pant finished the match for India and proved that they are ready for the upcoming battle in the T20 World Cup 2021. During the first innings of the match, the Rishabh Pant had a hilarious chant with Ravichandran Ashwin and that video goes viral on social media.
