Watch: MS Dhoni caught arguing with the umpire for the wrong call during the 1st Qualifier against Delhi Capitals
Delhi Capitals went on to clash with Chennai Super Kings in the 1st Qualifier of the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League. The skipper of Chennai Super Kings, MS Dhoni won the toss and asked the opposition to bat first.
Prithivi Shaw started to attack from the first over itself. Shikhar Dhawan on the other end has to leave the battle as Josh Hazlewood bowled a perfect length to remove the left-hander for cheap. After that, he removed Shreyas Iyer who gave a simple catch to Ruturaj Gaikwad.
But Prithvi Shaw looked dangerous on the other end and continuously smashing the opposition bowlers all around the park. Then Ravindra Jadeja provided the breakthrough for his skipper by sending off the well-settled Prithivi Shaw for 60 runs.
After back to back wickets, Rishabh Pant and Shimron Hetmyer stood in the middle and added 83 runs for the 5th wicket partnership. At the end of their innings, Delhi Capitals went on to post a challenging total of 172 runs on the board.
Summary of the match:
The Yellow army has to chase 173 runs and as usual, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Faf du Plessis opened the innings for Chennai Super Kings. Anrich Nortje give the expected start for Delhi Capitals as he cleared Faf du Plessis in the very first over of the game.
The Robin Uthappa joined with the youngster and took the charge right from the first ball he faced. Both the batsmen tore the opposition bowlers and made took their side to the driver's seat.

Robin Uthappa come out of the syllabus and added 63 runs including his 113 runs partnership with Ruturaj Gaikwad. After his dismissal, CSK sent Shardul Thakur who departed of the very first ball as he handed a simple catch to Shreyas Iyer.
However, Ruturaj Gaikwad looked unstoppable on the other end and scored 70 off 50 deliveries before being dismissed by Avesh Khan. Then an unexpected moment took place as Dhoni come out to bat in place in-form Ravindra Jadeja.
He scored vital 18 runs and finished the match in his style. Now, Chennai moved straightaway for the final and Delhi Capitals has to play the 2nd Qualifier on Wednesday. Besides, during the first innings, MS Dhoni has been pot while exchanging few words with the on-field umpire for his wrong decision.
