Samson-led Rajasthan Royals went on to clash with the tournament favourites Chennai Super Kings last night. Talking about the match, Sanju Samson won the toss and asked the opposition to bat first.

Rajasthan Royals didn't get the expected start as both Faf du Plessis and Ruturaj Gaikwad added 44 runs in the powerplay without losing the wicket. But Rahul Tewatia provided the breakthrough as Sanju Samson removed the bails of the South African batsman.

Suresh Raina too departed very early after scoring just 3 runs. Then Moeen Ali added 21 runs before being stumped by Sanju Samson. However, after Ambati Rayudu too departed quickly, Ruturaj Gaikwad was outstanding on the other hand and dominated the opposition bowlers all around the park.

Ravindra Jadeja took the finishing responsibility and added a quickfire 31 off just 15 balls. The star batsman of CSK RUturaj Gaikwad completed his maiden century in the last ball of the match and remained unbeaten on 101.

Yashasvi Jaiswal reached his fifty in just 20 balls before being dismissed by KM Asif with a quick bouncer. Then the skipper of the side, Sanju Samson and Shivam Dube played a crucial role in the middle and added 89 runs for the 3rd wicket partnership.

Once again it was Shardul Thakur who gave the breakthrough for Chennai Super Kings. But Shivam Dube looked strong on the other end and took the game on his shoulders along with the debutant Glenn Phillips and chased the in the 18th over of the match.

Besides, the moment of the match took place during the 17th over of the game. It was a hilarious one from Sam Curran as the ball slipped from his hand and went towards the short fine leg region. Interestingly, Glenn Phillips followed the ball but couldn't reach it.
