Australia and Pakistan faced each other in the 2nd semi-final at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai. Aaron Finch, the skipper of Australia won the toss and asked Pakistan to bat first.

Both Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan opened the innings for Pakistan and give the expected start for their side. Both the openers added 71 runs stand for the first wicket before Adam Zampa claims the wicket of Babar Azam when he was batting on 39.

After that, Fakhar Zaman played a crucial role in the middle for Pakistan and dominated the Australian bowlers all around the park. The duo added 72 runs for the second wicket partnership as Mitchell Starc removed the well-settled Mohammad Rizwan for 67 runs.

Then Australia got back-to-back wickets of Asif Ali and Shoaib Malik in the death overs but Fakhar Zaman completely looked different from the others. He went through the likes of Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc and remained unbeaten 55 off 32 balls. With the help of his innings, Pakistan posted a challenging total of 176 runs on the board.

Chasing the target of 177 runs, David Warner and Aaron Finch opened the innings for Australia. But Australia didn't get the expected start as Shaheen Afridi sent back the opposition skipper for a duck.

Then Micthell Marsh and David Warner added some crucial runs in the middle and this time, it was Shadab Khan to give the breakthrough for his team.

He dismissed Mitchell Marsh who was looking quite well on one end and went on to grab three more wickets of Steven Smith, Glenn Maxwell and the well-settled David Warner, who missed his fifty by just one run.

However, Marcus Stoinis and Matthew Wade took the responsibility on their shoulders and took Australia to lead the head-to-head stats with one more victory in their bag.

Australia needed 22 off 12 balls and Mathew Wade completes it in the 19th over bowled by Shaheen Afridi. Now, Australia is going to take on New Zealand in the finals of the ICC T20 World Cup 2021.
