Watch: Avesh Khan laughs after a dot, but KS Bharat hits match-winning six on last ball
The Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Delhi Capitals VIVO IPL 2021 match was the 56th in the series. Before the match, both sides were ranked in the top four.
The outcome of the game determined the momentum heading into the finals for the IPL 2021 trophy. Because Delhi Capitals' net run rate was so excellent, RCB had little chance of finishing second.
Team form was excellent in the 2nd phase of the IPL to qualify, but teams looked solid throughout IPL 2O21. The Delhi Capitals chose to bat first and scored 164 runs for the cost of 5 wickets in their innings. DC was led by Prithvi Shaw and Shikhar Dhawan, while RCB were led by Siraj, who got 2 wickets.
RCB batted well from the get-go, as shown by their 7-wicket victory in the last over. While Padikkal went down early, the rest of the team chipped in to help them win the last IPL game.
IPL 2021 never ceases to amaze us. The Mumbai Indians vs. Sunrisers Hyderabad match was the focus of attention today since a victory by at least 170 runs was critical for MI. However, this did not transpire. Fans were more interested in the batting displays of Ishan Kishan and Suryaakumar Yadav.
Ultimately, though, it was the encounter between the Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Capitals that drew the attention of the crowd. For RCB to win the game, they needed to score 15 runs in the last over. Srikar Bharat played most of the balls in the last over, which Maxwell really wanted to bowl.
Avish Khan was spotted smiling after Bharat played a dot ball on the third last ball of the match. He had no idea that they would go on to lose the match just two balls after his amusing chuckle. RCB needed 8 runs off the last two balls, and Bharat's six off the final ball was nothing short of miraculous. The RCB's batter blasted a six over Axar Patel on the boundary line, clearing the bar for the winning run.
