Watch: AB De Villiers son frustrated after Jasprit Bumrah dismisses his father

The 39th match of the IPL 2021 season pitted Mumbai Indians against Royal Challengers Bangalore. Following the resumption of the campaign, both teams lost their first two matches.

Rohit Sharma, the captain of the Indian cricket team, won the toss and chose to bowl first. MI has replaced Saurabh Tiwary with Hardik Pandya, their star all-rounder, who will play his first professional match after a two-month layoff. In his starting XI, Virat Kohli made two changes. Wanindu Hasaranga, Tim David, and Navdeep Saini were replaced by Kyle Jamieson, Daniel Christian, and Shahbaz Ahmed.

Kohli and Srikar Bharat put on a solid 68-run partnership after Devdutt Padikkal was dismissed early. Glenn Maxwell came in after Bharat was removed for 32 runs and put up a masterclass. Maxwell and Kohli put on a third-wicket stand of 51 runs.

After being dropped on 0 in the first over, Kohli achieved his second straight fifty. Soon after completing his half-century, Adam Milne removed the RCB captain. Maxwell, on the other hand, was having no trouble striking MI bowlers. Using his famous shot-reverse sweep, he continued to hit the ball outside the park.

He was, however, bowled in the 19th over by Jasprit Bumrah. Bumrah eliminated AB De Villiers with the very next delivery, who edged a 145kmph ball. Mumbai Indians turned the tables in the 19th over, restricting RCB to 165/6. Prior to the dismissals of Maxwell and ABD, it appeared that RCB would comfortably pass the 180-run mark on the board.

Danielle De Villiers, AB De Villiers' wife, was spotted in the stands with one of his sons, watching the match. While watching the game from the grandstand, AB De Villiers' son made a lovely reaction as soon as he went out. He hurled his fist in the air in frustration, but he injured himself. When Bumrah terminated ABD's father, his son was devastated. Danielle, his wife, was taken aback by his dismissal.
