The love story of Kamran Akmal and dropping catches never end

 

The inaugural edition of the Legends Cricket League has kicked off at the Al Amerat Cricket Ground on 20th January, Thursday. India Maharajas and Asia Lions compete with each other in the first encounter of the competition.

Winning the toss, Mohammad Kaif-led India Maharajas asked the opposition to bat as Tillakaratne Dilshan and Kamran Akmal opened the innings for Asia Lions. Stuart Binny gave the expected start for the side by removing the Sri Lankan batsman for 5 runs.

Kamran Akmal played a decent cameo before getting dismissed on 25 runs. Upul Tharanga stood strong on one end and dominated the opposition bowlers all around the park. Mohammad Hafeez and Mohammad Yousuf returned to the dressing room after scoring 16 and one runs for their side.

After the dismissal of Upul Tharanga who scored 66 runs, the skipper of Asia Lions Misbah uh Haq get into the action and added 44 runs in 30 balls. In the end, Asia Lions posted a quite challenging total of 175 runs on the board.

Mohammad Kaif - Yusuf Pathan

Chasing the target posted by the opposition, Naman Ojha and Stuart Binny opened the innings for India Maharajas and provided a decent start to the game. Shoaib Akhtar gave the first breakthrough for his side by removing Stuart Binny for 10 runs.

After that, Subramaniam Badrinath has also been dismissed for a duck as Muttiah Muralidharan made him walk back to the dressing room. Naman Ojha who was playing a runner ball game has been dismissed by Umar Gul for 20 runs.

Then the skipper of India Maharajas, Mohammad Kaif came out to the crease and started to dominate the opposition bowlers along with Yusuf Pathan. The right-handed batsman overwhelmed the opposition and smashed the likes of Shoaib Akhtar, Nuwan Kulasekara and others all around the park.

After the dismissal of Yusuf Pathan, his brother Irfan Pathan joined the action and played a quick cameo of 21 from 10 balls and helped his team to run over the victory line in the first match against Asia Lions. However, Kamran Akmal dropped an easy sitter of Naman Ojha at the start of the innings likewise he did in the international arena.
