Shahnawaz Dahani has a chat with MS Dhoni during net session

On Sunday (October 24), India and Pakistan will square off in Dubai for the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 championship match. While the Super 12 round of the T20 World Cup got underway on Saturday, both sides were working on their game in the nets (October 23). Pakistan's fast bowling star Shahnawaz Dahani has been included in the team announcement as well. He was also spotted chatting with Team India coach and former India captain MS Dhoni.

On the other hand, during Pakistan's practise session on Saturday, Dahani saw MS Dhoni roaming around the ground and immediately rushed up to the veteran. Dahani was heard stating, "Aap Dhoni hain...mai Dahani hoon." when the two were seen briefly conversing. Shahid Shahnawaz responded by stating to MS Dhoni, "I am growing older now." Dhoni then added, "No, you're even fitter than before."

When Team India opens their ICC T20 World Cup trip on October 24 against Pakistan, veteran Indian spinner Amit Mishra and Delhi Capitals spinner Varun Chakravarthy predict that Pakistani batters would struggle against Varun Chakravarthy on the'slow' UAE surfaces.

As a matter of fact, Varun had a tremendous IPL 2021 season, taking 18 wickets in 17 matches at an impressive economy rate of 6.5. Tamil Nadu domestic cricketer Chakravarthy completed the 'Purple Cap' ranking tied sixth with 18 wickets with his best IPL 2021 stats of 3/13. While this was going on, he made his international debut in August against Sri Lanka, taking 2 wickets in a three-match T20I series in Colombo. His success in the Indian Premier League has won him a spot in India's 15-man T20 World Cup team as well.

"Despite their excellent spin bowling skills, Indian cricketers have had a tough time understanding Varun Chakravarthy's arguments.". The Pakistani team has never even seen Varun bowl before they arrive in the country. Pakistan players would have a tough time dealing with Varun on these UAE pitches, which will grow drier over the next month," Amit Mishra stated at Salaam Cricket 2021 in Dubai.

"Bhajji Pa was an inspiration to us. Every day, we'd see him working long and hard in the nets. We've been fans of Bhajji's for as long as he's been on the stage. I would want to thank him for giving us the battling spirit," Mishra said.
