SA vs IND: Watch - Virat Kohli gets out for a duck in the 2nd ODI against Proteas

 

After getting defeated by South Africa in the first ODI, KL Rahul and his men were up against them in the 2nd ODI at the Boland Park in Paarl. Talking about the ongoing match, KL Rahul once again won the toss and decided to bat. He opened the innings along with Shikhar Dhawan who had a good outing in the first game.

Both the batters get off to a good start to the innings and added 63 runs for the opening wicket partnership. Notably, the openers added 57 runs in the mandatory powerplay which will help India to post a competitive target on the board.

Despite getting a good start to the innings, Shikhar Dhawan had to return to the dressing room after scoring 29 runs for his team. Following him, Virat Kohli who came in at number 3, has been dismissed by Keshav Maharaj for a five-ball duck.

Notably, it was his first duck in ODI since December 2019. After that, Rishabh Pant joined with his skipper and played remarkably in the middle overs of the game. Both the batters added 115 runs for the third-wicket partnership before KL Rahul has been dismissed by Sisanda Magala for 55 runs.

South Africa bowlers took away the game from India:

In the very next over, Tabraiz Shamsi dismissed the well-settled Rishabh Pant for 85 runs. After that, Shreyas Iyer had to walk back to the pavilion with the number 11. Venkatesh Iyer and Shardul Thakur added some useful runs on the board before the left-hander returns to the dressing room after scoring 22 runs.

In the end, Ravichandran Ashwin joined with Shardul Thakur and added 48 runs for the 7th wicket partnership as both the batters remained unbeaten on 25 and 40 respectively. With the help of their innings, India posted a quite competitive total of 287 runs on the board.

Chasing the target posted by India, Quinton de Koc and Janneman Malan opened the innings for South Africa and provided a flying start by smashing right from the first over of Bhuvnesh Kumar.

Both the batters overwhelmed the Indian bowlers and added 132 runs for the opening wicket before Quinton de Kock has been dismissed by Shardul Thakur for 78 runs. After that, the skipper of the side Temba Bavuma joined with Janneman Malan and continues the innings where de Kock left.

As of now, both the batters have scored 86 and 25 runs as South Africa is in a very good position of defeating India in the second ODI as well. However, fans were not happy with Virat Kohli as the 33-year-old has gone for a five-ball duck in this game.
