PAK vs WI: Watch - Iftikhar Ahmed and Mohammad Hasnain recreated the infamous drop catch of Shoaib Malik and Saeed Ajmal

 

The third and final T20I between Pakistan and West Indies has been battled out on 16th December, Thursday at the National Stadium in Karachi. Winning the toss, West Indies skipper Nicholas Pooran decided to bat first.

West Indies got the expected start from their openers Brandon King and Shamarh Brooks, as both, the batsmen dominated the Pakistan bowlers and scored 66 runs in the powerplay overs themselves. However, Mohammad Wasim Jr gives the first breakthrough for his team by removing the dangerous Brandon King for 41 runs.

After the fall of Brandon King, Nicholas Pooran joined with Shamarh Brooks and continued where his teammate left the match. But the opener has missed his well deserved fifty after being dismissed by Shahnawaz Dahani for 49 runs.

Nicholas Pooran has been ruthless against the opposition bowlers and scored 64 runs with the help of 2 fours and 6 sixes. At the end of their innings, West Indies posted a quite tough total of 207 runs on the board.

Mohammad Rizwan completes 2000 runs in T20I in this calendar year:

Pakistan opened the innings with the skipper Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan with the target of 208 runs in front of them. Both the openers gave a flying start to their innings and shattered the West Indies inexperienced bowling attack all-around the park.

They were unstoppable and attacking everyone right from the first ball itself. Both the batters added 158 runs for the first wicket partnership and almost did it for their side. At last, Dominic Drakes provided the first breakthrough for West Indies by sending back the opposition skipper for 79 runs.

Mohammad Rizwan who was looking solid on the other end has completed 2000 T20I runs in this calendar year and become the first batsman in history to achieve this feat. Odean Smith and Romario Shepherd have got the wicket of Mohammad Rizwan and Fakhar Rizwan for 89 and 12 runs respectively.

But Asif Ali took the charge and finished the match as Pakistan whitewashed West Indies for 3-0. Besides, during West Indies' first innings, Iftikhar Ahmed and Mohammad Hasnain recreated history by dropping an easy catch on the field.
