Murali Karthik opens up on mankading incident that went viral

The former left-arm bowler Murali Karthik has grabbed the headlines after recalling an instance that took place during 2012 when he represented Surrey.

During a match against Somerset, Murali Karthik mankaded a batsman which is against the spirit of cricket. It was a kind of incident that he could not forget till the end of his life.

Moreover, mankading has been the worst way to dismiss a batsman and a lot have criticised it as well. Whenever we talk about that incident the first name that comes to our mind is none other than the legendary off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin.

Murali Karthik opens up the instance that took place in 2012:

Ravichandran Ashwin opens up the conversation with Murali Karthik on his Youtube show. The veteran off-spinner has no words to express that how he felt after knowing the impact which created on Murali Karthik.

After the game, Murali Karthik told to Ashwin that "My wife actually ran away from the ground. It was that kind of a threat with the crowd booing and all. They almost entered the dressing room at one point.

In my case, I had warned the batsman thrice already. They never spoke about that after the incident. Despite my constant warning, they are blaming the bowler. I am ready to run out all the 11 batsmen if they step out before I deliver the ball," Ravichandran Ashwin said.

"I had done it five times before. Despite that, it became a controversy because I did it against Somerset. That was a club for which I had played for three years. Somerset was already upset that I went to Surrey.

They had so many accusations against me, that my wife liked city life and that is why I went to London, they must be paying him more, etc. So, Somerset was my previous team, which is why it became so huge," he further added.
