IND vs NZ: Watch - A diehard fan of Rohit Sharma breaches security and tries to touch his feet

 

After winning the first T20, India is up against the visitors, New Zealand, in the second T20I at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi. In the ongoing match, the skipper of India, Rohit Sharma once again opted to field first after winning the toss.

Martin Guptill and Daryl Mitchell give the expected start for New Zealand as both the batsmen dominated the opposition bowlers in the powerplay overs. They added 48 runs for the first wicket partnership, as Martin Guptill has been sent back to the pavilion by Deepak Chahar for 31 runs.

Then Mark Chapman too batted well for his team and scored 21 runs before being dismissed by Axar Patel. After that, Harshal got his first wicket in the debut match and removed Daryl Mitchell for 31 runs. Glenn Phillips played a crucial role in the middle and left the field after scoring 34 runs for his team. In the end, New Zealand posted a decent total of 153 runs on the board.

KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma set the platform for India:

Following the total posted by the opposition, Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul started brilliantly for India. KL Rahul who had a decent outing in the previous match is now looking in red hot form with the bat.

He continuously attacked the New Zealand bowlers and scored over 30 runs in the powerplay overs itself. Rohit Sharma has been quite on the other end after smashing a six in the powerplay overs.

Then Tim Southee brought the spinners into the attack and started to contain the runs from both ends. Despite having a good start in the powerplay overs, the Indian openers found it difficult to score against the spinners, Ish Sodhi and Mitchell Santner.

However, Rohit Sharma broke through his shell and went on to smash Mitchell Santner in his second over of the match. After conceding two sixes, Trent Boult dropped the catch of Rohit Sharma who was batting on 30 runs.

KL Rahul and Rohit departed after scoring 65 and 55 runs and New Zealand once again tried to get back into the match. They went on to remove, Suryakumar Yadav as well but Rishabh Pant and Venkatesh Iyer did the job for their team.

In the end, India beat New Zealand by 7 wickets and took the lead by 2-0 in the three-match T20I series against New Zealand. Besides, in the first half of the game, a fan breached through the security to meet Rohit Sharma. The video went viral on social media after witnessing the kind gesture from Rohit Sharma.
