BAN vs PAK: Watch - Dramatic final over bowled by Mahmudullah when Pakistan needed just 8 runs to win

 

The 3rd T20I between Bangladesh and Pakistan has been played at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka on Monday, 22nd November. The match ended up in a dramatic final over where Pakistan whitewashed the three-match T20I series against Bangladesh at their den.

Talking about the match, the skipper of Bangladesh won the toss and opted to bat first. Shahnawaz Dahan provided the first breakthrough for Pakistan by sending back Najmul Hossain Shanto for 5 runs. Then Shamim Hossain joined with Mohammad Naim and played some fabulous strokes before being dismissed by Usman Qadir for 22 runs.

After that, Afif Hossain and Mohammad Naim added 43 runs for the third wicket partnership and once again, it was Usman Qadir who give the breakthrough for Pakistan by removing Afif Hossain. Bangladesh failed to accelerate in the middle-overs and as a result, they posted a decent total of 124 runs on the board.

Chasing the total of 124 runs posted by the opposition, Pakistan got the expected start from their openers Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam. Aminul Islam picked the first wicket of the innings in the final ball of the powerplay, as he sent back the opposition skipper for 19 runs.

After that, Haider Ali joined with the wicket-keeper batsman and added 51 runs for the second wicket partnership. Then Shahidul Islam cleaned the stumps of Mohammad Rizwan when he was batting on 40 runs.

But Haider Ali stood strong on the other end and added 45 runs for his team before being dismissed by Mahmudullah in the final over of the match. As the match comes close to the final over, needed just 8 runs as the opposition skipper come himself to bowl.

He got back to back wickets of the second and third ball off Sarfaraz Ahmed and Haider Ali and put his side back on the track. However, Iftikhar Ahmed smashed a six over the long-on region and put his team once again in the match.

But the match was not ended there as he also been removed by Mahmudullah and the match went to the last ball with 2 runs required from it. In the end, Mohammad Nawaz connected it over the extra cover region and finished the match for his team.
