WI vs IND, 1st T20I Live: Watch - Suryakumar Yadav once again threw his wicket at a crucial time

 

The Rohit Sharma-led Indian side is currently engaged with West Indies in the 1st T20I at the Brian Lara Stadium, Tarouba in Trinidad. Talking about the ongoing game, Nicholas Pooran won the toss and invited the visitors to bat.

Rohit Sharma opened the innings with Suryakumar Yadav on the other end. Both the batters gave a good start to the innings, adding 44 runs for the opening wicket partnership. Akeal Hossain gave the first breakthrough for West Indies by sending Suryakumar Yadav back to the dressing room for 24 runs.

Following his wicket, Obed McCoy removed Shreyas Iyer who came in after the dismissal of Suryakumar Yadav, returning to the dressing room with a duck. Then Rishabh Pant joined with his skipper and added 43 runs for the 3rd wicket before the left-handed batter was dismissed by Keemo Paul for 14 runs.

Coming in at no.5 Hardik Pandya hasn't been much effective with the bat as he played a poor shot off Alzarri Joseph which went straight to the hands of Obed McCoy.

On the other end, the Indian skipper did his job with the bat as he completed his fifty and returned to the dressing room with the number 64 off 44 balls.

Ravindra Jadeja has been decent with the bat as he scored 16 runs before being dismissed by Alzarri Joseph. After his dismissal, Dinesh Karthik and Ravichandran Ashwin played a crucial inning in the lower order as both the Tamil Nadu-based cricketers added 52 runs for the seventh wicket partnership.

Dinesh Karthik has been phenomenal with the bat, scoring 41 off just 19 balls with the help of 4 fours and 3 sixes whereas, Ravichandran Ashwin scored 13 runs and helped his side to post a challenging total of 190 runs on the board. Besides, Suryakumar Yadav once again threw away his wicket during the spell of Akeal Hossain.
