WATCH: Jasprit Bumrah dismissed Joe Root for a duck with a stunning delivery

Many people currently believe that Jasprit Bumrah is the best fast bowler across all formats, and the 28-year-old proved why during Tuesday's opening ODI between India and England. Bumrah got things going at the Oval under cloudy skies with a double first-wicket over that left the home team in shambles.

In the opening ODI of the three-match series on Tuesday, India got off to an incredible start against England. The Indian pace attack, led by Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami, took three wickets in the first three overs after Rohit Sharma called Jos Buttler and company to bat after winning the toss and ordering them to bat. England was reduced to 7/3 in 2.4 overs as a result.

Two of the three dismissals occurred in the second over, which Jasprit Bumrah bowled. The 28-year-old Indian speedster's start to the new series couldn't have been any better. When Roy attempted to drive his fourth ball, a full ball that was thrown outside of the off-stump area, he got a heavy inside edge and was out for a five-ball duck.

Then, Bumrah misled Joe Root with a delivery that was somewhat short and outside off stump. To get off the mark, the former England Test captain attempted to play towards the third man, but he only managed to locate a nick before Rishabh Pant took a straightforward catch. England is now attempting to rebuild the innings after suffering three significant blows, with Buttler and Jonny Bairstow bearing the burden.
