SL vs AUS Live: Watch - Amidst the LBW appeal, David Warner took a blinder to dismiss Dimuth Karunaratne

 

Sri Lanka and Australia are currently engaged in the first Test match at the Galle International Stadium in Galle. Sri Lanka lost the T20I series against the visitors and made a strong comeback in the ODI series.

The hosts won the five-match ODI series by 3-2 and have moved to the two-match Test series against Australia. Coming to the ongoing Test, the skipper of Sri Lanka, Dimuth Karunaratne won the toss and opted to bat.

The skipper opened the innings with Pathum Nissanka and got a decent start as Pat Cummins removed Pathum Nissanka for 23 runs. After that, Mitchell Starc removed Kusal Mendis for three runs. Dimuth Karunaratne who looked good with the bat scored 28 runs before being dismissed by Nathan Lyon.

Dhananjaya de Silva and Dinesh Chandimal have been removed by Mitchell Swepson for cheap numbers. Angelo Mathews has been decent with the willow and added 39 runs before Nathan Lyon grabs him under his belt.

Coming down the order, Niroshan Dickwella played a crucial inning and scored 58 runs for his team. At the end of the first inning, Sri Lanka has been bowled out for 212 runs and Nathan Lyon grabbed 5 wickets under his belt.

After having a good day with the bat, Australia had to get past the total posted by Sri Lanka. Usman Khawaja and David Warner opened the innings for Australia and gave a decent start, as David Warner had to walk back after being dismissed by Ramesh Mendis.

The right-arm spinner continued his spell and got the wicket of Marnus Labuschagne for 13 runs. After that, Steven Smith has been run-out by Kusal Mendis for a cheap score. As of now, Usman Khawaja and Travis Head were on the crease, scoring 47 and 6 runs respectively.

Besides, during Sri Lanka's inning, everyone shouted for LBW of Dimuth Karunaratne whereas David Warner kept his eyes on the ball and grabbed a spectacular catch diving forward. His effort didn't go in vain as the left-handed batter had to walk back to the dressing room.
