LPL 2022: Watch - Chamika Karunaratne loses his teeth while attempting to take a catch

 

The Sri Lankan all-rounder Chamika Karunaratne has been hospitalised after suffering a freaky injury while attempting a catch during the ongoing Lanka Premier League.

The incident took place during the 4th match of the tournament between Galle Gladiators vs Kandy Falcons on the 8th Wednesday, and Thursday. Coming to the game, Galle Gladiators' skipper Kusal Mendis won the toss and opted to bat.

Batting first, their side posted a decent total of 121 runs with the help of Movin Subasingha's 40 and Imad Wasim's 34 runs knock. The West Indies all-rounder, Carlos Brathwaite had a great day with the ball as he scalped 4 wickets with a maiden in his 4 overs spell.

Chasing the target, Andre Fletcher and Pathum Nissanka provided a decent start as Kamindu Mendis stood well in the middle after losing back-to-back wickets of the openers. In the end, Kandy Falcons won the match quite comfortably with 5 overs and five wickets in hand.

After defeating Galle Gladiators, the skipper of Kandy Falcons Wanindu Hasanranga looked happy and shared a few words in the post-match presentation. "The foreign players are doing a good job. We have an experienced side and that's why we are doing a fine job.

We have good bench strength as well. We are going with a balanced side. We are going to our home (Kandy), we'll get good support from our fans," Wanindu Hasaranga was quoted saying as same as in Cricbuzz.

Carlos Brathwaite was named Player of the Match for his fabulous spell with the ball and the all-rounder shared a few words in the post-match presentation saying, "Pitch was good for seam bowling and I kept it simple.

Tried to bring the edge into play. Happy with opening the bowling. Fletcher has been apologising, no one drops catches on purpose. LPL has been amazing, good vibes so far."
