Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal opened the innings for Rajasthan Royals as David Willey provided the early breakthrough by sending back the left-hander for just 4 runs.

After his dismissal, Devdutt Padikkal joined with the English wicket-keeper batter and added a crucial partnership of 70 runs for the second wicket. This time, the trump card of Royal Challengers Bangalore, Harshal Patel provided the breakthrough by sending back the well-settled Padikkal for 37 runs.

Then the skipper of the side, Sanju Samson, who looked well in the first two games, couldn't score big and walked back to the dressing after being dismissed by Wanindu Hasaranga for 8 runs.

IPL 2022 - Harshal Patel - Dinesh Karthik

Chasing the target, the skipper Faf du Plessis and Anuj Rawat opened the innings for Royal Challengers Bangalore and dominated the opposition bowlers independently. But after the dismissal of the openers, RCB is struggling to score runs against the quality spinners of Rajasthan Royals.

However, Dinesh Karthik and Shahbaz Ahmed took away the game from the opposition as they only need 7 runs to win the game, as Harshal Patel finished off the game by smashing a six off Yashasvi Jaiswal's first ball.

After winning the match, Dinesh Karthik has been named the Man of the Match for his unbeaten 44 off just 23 balls that helped his team to beat Rajasthan Royals in the end.

In the post-match presentation, the right-handed batter said, "I think I made a conscious effort this year to do justice to myself because the last year, I felt I could have done better. The way I trained was much better this time around.

Credit to the person who trained with me. I'm making a conscious effort to tell myself that I'm not done yet. When I went in, we needed 12 rpo and had to keep going. I train for these situations," Dinesh Karthik was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz.

"To stay calm and know whom you can takedown. I've tried to play as much white-ball cricket as possible, and prepare as many scenarios as possible.

Lot of people have spent time with me in this journey, leading up to the tournament and it's the work that goes unnoticed mostly. I think T20 cricket, it's mostly premeditating but you also need to be clear about where to target," he added.
