IPL 2022: Watch - Dramatic final over of Marcus Stoinis against Kolkata Knight Riders

Shreyas Iyer-led Kolkata Knight Riders have clashed with Lucknow Super Giants on 18th May, Wednesday. KL Rahul, the skipper of LSG won the toss and opted to bat. Both the batters got off to a flying start and added 44 runs in the powerplay overs.

After that, both KL Rahul and Quinton de Kock decided to accelerate the run rate and started taking on the opposition bowlers all around the park.

Quinton de Kock switched the gear and went high against KKR bowlers, scoring 140 off just 70 balls and remaining unbeaten on the crease. KL Rahul has played exceptionally well and he also remained unbeaten on 68 runs for his team.

In the end, Lucknow Super Giants posted a huge total of 210 runs on the board. With a huge target on the board, Kolkata Knight Riders opened the innings with Venkatesh Iyer and Abhijeet Tomar.

Happy to be on the other side: KL Rahul

KKR openers haven't been much effective with the bat. However, Nitish Rana, Shreyas Iyer and Sam Billings fought hard in the middle and steadied the drowning ship from the defeat.

Rinku Singh and Sunil Narine took charge in the lower order and scored 40 and 21 runs respectively. But eventually, KKR lost the match by just 3 runs as they lost back to back in the last two balls bowled by Marcus Stoinis.

With this win, Lucknow Super Giants have been officially qualified for the playoffs. In the post-match presentation, KL Rahul shared a lot about the game saying, "I should probably get paid more for games like this. We had missed games like this, in this season.

Haven't been many games that have gone down to the last ball, maybe some which went to the last over. Happy to be on the other side. Could easily have been on the losing side and have gone back home thinking we lost due to some poor cricket. Good way to finish the last game of the league season."

"Mohsin has been outstanding for us in the last few games. He's got the skills but the key thing has been his knowledge of when to use those skills. He'll be donning the Blue jersey soon the way he is going," he further added.
