IPL 2022, SRH vs PBKS: Watch - Umran Malik drops an easy catch off Jonny Bairstow

The final league match of the Indian Premier League was played between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Punjab Kings. Looking at the match, Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been named as captain as Kane Williamson has gone back home.

The right-arm pacer won the toss and opted to bat. Batting first, Sunrisers Hyderabad posted a decent total of 157 runs on the board. Abhishek Sharma has again missed his fifty and returned to the dugout after scoring 43 runs for his team.

The other batters of the side have been decent with the bat. However, Punjab Kings won quite comfortably as they went on to chase down the target in under 16 overs of the game.

Liam Livingstone has shown his worth with the bat and remained unbeaten on 49 runs, smashing 5 sixes in it. But this win will not help Punjab Kings as both the teams have already been kicked out of the playoffs in this edition of the Indian Premier League.

Winning the match, Mayank Agarwal shared a few words in the post-match presentation. "It's going to be sore, probably going for an X-ray now. They never expected a no-ball, so he wasn't ready.

I asked him (Umran Malik) whether he was wearing a protective gear and he shouldn't get hurt. There are a lot of positives for us. The way Livingstone batted, Dhawan played well. Bairstow since the time he started to open," Umran Malik said as quoted by Cricbuzz.

"If we go out there and play the kind of cricket we play, we can do well in the next season. We couldn't stitch two back-to-back wins. We lost wickets in a cluster, and that at times derailed us.

We have played an aggressive brand of cricket overall. We are going to sit and discuss now after the IPL. We were here to get two points and we were here to enjoy ourselves," he added.

However, during the game, Umran Malik has dropped an easy sitter of Jonny Bairstow who was looking very dangerous since he come out to bat. The moment took place during the second over of the game as Washington Sundar created a chance to get their first prey against Punjab Kings.
