IND vs WI: Watch - Mohammed Siraj impresses fans with his smart scoop shot over short fine leg

 

India won the first two ODIs played against West Indies and were once again up against the same opposition in the 3rd One-day at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The skipper of the side, Rohit Sharma won the toss and opted to bat.

He opened the innings with his former partner Shikhar Dhawan but things didn't go in favour of them. Alzarri Joseph removed the opposition skipper for 13 runs and trapped Virat Kohli for a duck in the same over.

After their dismissal, Shikhar Dhawan has also been removed by Odean Smith for 10 runs. Then Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant combined their hands and helped their side to get back into the game.

Both Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant added 110 runs for the fourth-wicket partnership before both the batters have been dismissed by Hayden Walsh for 80 and 56 runs respectively. Suryakumar Yadav who was looked well in the last match has failed to contribute with the bat.

Coming down the order, Washington Sundar and Deepak Chahar played some good shots and scored 33 and 38 runs respectively. With the help of their innings, India posted a quite challenging total of 265 runs on the board.

Chasing the target posted by the hosts, Shai Hope and Brandon King opened the innings for West Indies but Deepak Chahar and Mohammed Siraj didn't allow them to settle. Deepak Chahar removed Shamarh Brooks in the same over for a duck.

After that, Prasidh Krishna removed Darren Bravo who was batting on 19 runs. The skipper of the side, Nicholas Pooran has once again failed to convert his score to a match-winning knock and has been dismissed after scoring 34 runs for his team.

Jason Holder and Fabian Allen haven't been much impressed with the bat and warmed the bench with the numbers 6 and 0. Alzarri Joseph and Odean Smith tried their best by coming down the order and scoring 29 and 36 runs respectively.

In the end, India defeat West Indies by 96 runs and sealed the series as well. During India's innings, Mohammed Siraj played a fabulous scoop off Jason Holder that went for a boundary at the short leg region.
