The first T20I between India and Sri Lanka has been ended up in a good way for Rohit Sharma and his men. After being asked to bat first by the visitors, Rohit Sharma and his men posted a total of 199 runs which is a challenging one for any team against the Indian bowling unit.

Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan stitched a fabulous partnership of 111 runs for the opening wicket. However, in the end, Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer scored 44, 89 and 57 runs respectively.

Chasing the target posted by the opposition, Sri Lanka managed to score only 137 runs and lost the match by a margin of 62 runs. Charith Asalanka was the top scorer for the side, having scored 53 off 47 balls and remained unbeaten throughout the game.

However, after picking up the wicket of Dinesh Chandimal, Ravindra Jadeja did a Pushpa style celebration which has gone viral on social media.

I wanted to play my shots and keep the intent going: Shreyas Iyer

After defeating Sri Lanka, Shreyas Iyer had a few words in the post-match presentation and said, "Once I got going, I wanted to play my shots and keep the intent going, just wanted to play my shots.

He (Ishan) wasn't able to time, was losing patience. I just told him to take his time, look for twos and threes. Our plan was to hit the pockets, initially, that's what we did, and things came out pretty well for us," Shreyas Iyer was quoted by Cricbuzz.

"Coming from Kolkata, this ground had different dimensions. I wasn't thinking a lot, thought 180 was a good total, was just looking to watch the ball closely and then played my shots. I had already put my hand up (for a bowl).

Around the 16th over when he (Rohit) went it he had already told Bumrah these are the bowlers who need to bowl. I tried to bribe Bumrah but it didn't work for me," he added.
