AB de Villiers is well-known in the cricket world for his innovative batting strokes, which he uses to score a lot of runs. Dinesh Karthik repeated one of his slog sweeps against Dwaine Pretorius in the fourth T20I, scoring a half-century to help India reach a respectable total.

India were invited to bat first after Rishabh Pant lost the toss for the fourth time in a row. The team was in trouble at one point, as they were poised at 40/3. However, Hardik Pandya and Dinesh Karthik put on a 65-run stand to help the team reach a respectable total. Dinesh Karthik scored a half-century with his 55-run knock and also replicated one of AB de Villiers' shots used to play.

The 18th over of the innings was bowled by Dwaine Pretorius. On the first ball, he bowled a full-length delivery to Karthik. The batter shuffled across the stumps before slogging-sweeping the ball over deep square leg. His shot reminded everyone of AB de Villers, and the crowd applauded.
