ENG vs NZ Live: Watch - Henry Nicholls's bizarre dismissal off Jack Leach in Leeds Test

 

After losing the first two Tests against England, the visiting side, New Zealand is once again up against the hosts in the 3rd and final Test match of the series. Talking about the game, the skipper of New Zealand, Kane Williamson won the toss and chose to bat.

Tom Latham and Will Young opened the innings for New Zealand, as Stuart Broad removed the left-hander for a duck in the very first over of the game. Then Kane Williamson come in and played some beautiful shots along with Will Young.

However, the youngster has been removed by Jack Leach for 20 runs. After his dismissal, Kane Williamson also returned to the dugout after being dismissed by Stuart Broad for 31 runs.

Devon Conway and Henry Nicholls also failed with the bat and went back to the dressing room, scoring just 26 and 19 runs for their side.

Despite losing 5 wickets for 123 runs, Daryl Mitchell and Tom Blundell have put up a great partnership in the middle and added 120 runs for the sixth wicket before Matty Potts gets Tom Blundell on 55.

Tim Southee played a crucial inning and scored 33 runs by coming in the lower order. However, Daryl Mitchell was the last hope for New Zealand as the right-hander scored 109 runs and got out by Jack Leach. In the end, New Zealand posted 329 runs on the board.

With a decent total on the board, Trent Boult provided the expected start for the Kiwis as he went through the top order of England. He dismissed all the three batters, Alex Less, Zak Crawley and Ollie Pope for single-digit scores.

Following the trend, Tim Southee got the wicket of Joe Root for cheap. Then Jonny Bairstow came out to the field and played a quality inning despite losing Ben Stokes and Ben Foakes on the other end.

After their dismissal, Jamie Overton joined with the right-hander and dominated the opposition bowlers all around the park. Both the batters added 209 runs for the seventh wicket partnership and are remaining unbeaten on 130 and 89 runs respectively.

Besides, Henry Nicholls has been dismissed in a bizarre way as he hit the ball towards the long-on region and the ball went straight to the hands of Alex Lees after getting hit on the willow of Daryl Mitchell.
