ENG vs IND: Watch - "Shut Up & Bat" Umpire Richard Kettleborough was seen scolding Stuart Broad for complaints

 

Jasprit Bumrah-led Indian team is busy with England in the (rescheduled) Test match at Edgbaston. Talking about the first two days of the game, England skipper, Ben Stokes won the toss and opted to take the field.

In the absence of Rohit Sharma, Cheteshwar Pujara opened the innings with Shubman Gill. James Anderson got the first blood by removing Shubman Gill for 17 runs. After that, he removed Cheteshwar Pujara for 13 runs.

Following his dismissal, Hanuma Vihari who was struggled by Anderson has been removed by Matty Potts for 20 runs. Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer also walked back to the dressing room with cheap numbers.

However, Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja stood strong in the middle and added 222 runs for the 6th wicket partnership. Rishabh Pant played his natural game and scored 146 runs before being dismissed by Joe Root. Ravindra Jadeja also completed his hundred and scored 104 runs for his side.

At the end of the first innings, India posted a huge 416 runs with Jasprit Bumrah's quick-fire 31 off 16 balls. Zak Crawley and Alex Lees opened the innings, but both the batters had to walk back for cheap scores after being dismissed by Jasprit Bumrah.

Cheteshwar Pujara and Rishabh Pant have been well throughout the innings and added 66 and 57 runs before returning to the dressing room.

In the end, India has been bowled out for 245 runs and posted a target of 378 runs on the board. Alex Lees and Zak Crawley provided a good start for England as they added 107 runs for the opening wicket. Then Jasprit Bumrah gave the first breakthrough by sending back Zak Crawley for 46 runs.

Following his dismissal, Alex Lees has been run out by Ravindra Jadeja and Ollie Pope also returned to the dressing room after being dismissed by the opposition skipper. But Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow have set the chase for England, adding 150 runs for the 4th wicket stand and are remaining unbeaten on 76 and 72 runs respectively.

Besides, umpire Richard Kettleborough scolded the English pacer Stuart Broad and asked him to concentrate on his batting. "Let us do the umpiring - you do the batting, alright? Otherwise, you're going to get into trouble again. One for the over. Broady! Broady! Get on with the batting and shut up," Richard Kettleborough was quoted as saying to Stuart Broad.
