BAN vs IND, 2nd Test Live: Watch - Rishabh Pant's skills behind the stumps saved India from losing DRS

 

The wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant has saved the Indian team from losing their DRS after Mohammed Siraj's big appeal during the 2nd Test match against Bangladesh. Coming to the game, the hosts won the toss and opted to bat first.

Najmul Hossain Shanto and Zakir Hasan opened the innings for Bangladesh but haven't been much effective with the bat. Jaydev Unadkat who came back to India after waiting for more than 10 years provided the first breakthrough for India by sending back Zakir Hasan for 15 runs.

In the very next over, Ravichandran Ashwin gave the second breakthrough for India as he got the wicket of Najmul Hossain Shanto who was on 24 runs.

Then Mominul Haque and Shakib al Hasan added some useful runs for the third wicket before the 35-year-old departs after scoring 16 runs for his side. Mushfiqur Rahim failed to utilise his start with the bat and returned to the dressing room with the number 26.

Litton Das showed attacking intent against the Indian bowlers as he smashed 25 runs from 26 balls and got struck during Ravichandran Ashwin's spell. Despite losing wickets on one end, Mominul Haque stood strong on the other side and just batted through his heart to get his side a good total on the board.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz also returned to the dugout with a poor score as he failed to handle the likes of Umesh Yadav. With the lower-order batters being dismissed for cheap scores, Mominul Haque tried his best with the bat and added 84 runs which helped the hosts to post a decent total of 227 runs on the board.

After that, the Indian skipper opened the innings with the young lad Shubman Gill both the openers put up 19 runs at the end of the day. As of now, Team India is just behind 208 runs and will be looking to double the numbers to put some pressure on the opposition side.
