The home team is led by the 32-year-old inaugural bat Pieter Malan. The series, an opportunity for players to compete for places in the senior national team ahead of the upcoming India tour, will be played at the Mangaung Oval from November 23rd to December 9th.

All-rounder George Linde and the fast bowler Lutho Sipamla are in the squad, including Warriors paceper Marco Jansen and Knights batter Raynard van Tonder. CSA selection chairman Victor Mpitsang stressed the importance of the series ahead of the Indian team's tour.

“Test cricket remains a key focus area for CSA, ensuring that the format continues to thrive and remain relevant in our country. It is therefore vital that our high performance program continues to generate a steady stream of talent, ”Mpitsang said in a press release.

“Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the South African A-team's fixtures were interrupted and CSA is pleased that the content for this program is back. We particularly look forward to further tours for this team, as the A-Team program is critical to CSA's overall pipeline strategy.
