Shakib, Russell guide Dhaka Dynamites for win over Sylhet Sixers


The all-around show from Shakib Al Hassan and Russell Arnold guided Dhaka Dynamites for a victory by 8 wickets over Sylhet Sixers.

This year’s edition of Bangladesh Premier League is on the floors now and day by day it’s getting much anticipation among fans as it is another carnival of the game in color clothes.

In the 19th match of the league, Dhaka Dynamites met Sylhet Sixers in Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, Sylhet. Sylhet Sixes won the toss and elected to bat first.

Both the Sylhet Sixers openers were off to a decent start but failed to convert it into a big one as Liton Das and Sabbir Rahman lost their wickets within three balls when the team score was on 38.

Affif Hossain came at the no.3 position and didn’t create any big impact as he felt on only 19 runs. Sylhet Sixers skipper David Warner once again put up a strong batting display of 63 runs off 43 balls with a strike rate of nearly 143.

Alas, Sylhet Sixers managed to score 158 runs in the allocated twenty overs for the loss of eight wickets and set a target of 159 for Dhaka Dynamites to win the match. For Dhaka Dynamites Andre Birch took three wickets while Shakib Al Hassan took two.

Mizanur Rahman and Sunil Narine started the chase for Dhaka Dynamites. Unfortunately, they lost the wicket of Mizanur Rahman early when he was only on one run. His partner Sunil Narine also didn’t make any big impact as he scored only 20 runs.

While Dhaka Dynamites lost wickets in regular intervals, Shakib Al Hassan and Russell Arnold joined together and anchored the chase for Dhaka Dynamites. Both of them took the team over the line with three more overs to go. Finally, Dhaka Dynamites won the game by six wickets.

Russell Arnold and Shakin Al Hassan remained unbeaten on 40 and 61 respectively. Shakib Al Hassan was named as the man of the match for his all-around performance of 61 runs and two wickets.
