Windies fast bowler Kemar Roach will be unavailable for the first two ODIs against England due to injury.
Due to back injury, Roach has already missed the first ODI against England, which took place on February 20. He will also miss the next ODI as it will take some time to recover.
Cricket Windies believes the injury isn’t very serious and he will recover in time before the third ODI. Roach was the star for Windies in the recently concluded Test series against England, which they won 2-1.
The fast bowler picked up 18 wickets in the Test series and also grabbed the man of the series award. In the limited-overs format, Roach has picked up 114 wickets, playing 80 ODIs.
As the board hopes to get him in the third ODI, they still haven’t named a replacement so far. The third ODI is set to be played on February 25.
Meanwhile, Windies missed Roach badly in the first ODI as they failed to defend a mammoth total of 360 runs. The Caribbeans managed to pick up only 4 wickets and courtesy of Jason Roy and Joe Root’s hundred, England chased down the target comfortably in 48.4 overs.
