Pakistani pacemaker Shaheen Shah Afridi took three wickets in one over to help his team beat West Indies by nine runs in the second T20I and take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-game series. Afridi sacked Hayden Walsh, Dominic Drakes and Odean Smith on Tuesday at 17. The left-armed closer finished his four overs with numbers 3 for 26 as Pakistan continued its dream run in T20Is this year.

Afridi got Smith for 12 in the first ball of the 17th over. He got help from Asif Ali, who made a fine dive at the square leg boundary. It was a full length delivery on the pads. Smith snapped it nicely but didn't have enough to get it over the ropes.

In the fourth shipment of this, Afridi got one who simply held his line and found the outside edge of Drakes' bat, which was dismissed for a golden duck. In the very next ball, poor left Hayden Walsh tossed a Yorker to complete his three wickets.

In the hunt for 173, West Indies Shai Hope (1) and Shamarh Brooks (10) lost with just 31 runs on the board. Brandon King and skipper Nicholas Pooran then met at the bow to pick up the innings for the visitors. Both batter made 54 runs for the third wicket before Pooran (26) was scalped by Mohammad Nawaz and Windies needed 88 runs to win from 54 balls.

King eventually knocked out in 16 over after playing 67 and the West Indies were in trouble, taking 55 to win from 28 balls. The guests lost wickets on a regular basis, and in the end Pakistan recorded a victory.

Previously, Pakistan had scored 172/8 in the allotted twenty overs in a collective stroke effort. Pakistan took a punch and got off to a bad start when the hosts lost to skipper Babar Azam (7) in the third round of the inning. Also Fakhar Zaman (10) could not leave any traces with the bat when he was sent back to the pavilion by Akeal Hosein.
