The challenge is for the batters to put scores on the board, says Wasim Jaffer

India and South Africa match are going to commence from 26th December, Sunday. This match going to be one of the fabulous matches of the year. Former Indian cricketer Wasim Jaffer has stated that India might face a tough battle against South Africa.

However Indian batters have the capability to counter their attack, as they have a quality batting line-up on the trot. Both teams are strong and it will be a new year treat for the cricket fans. The Indian batters are ready to face the likes of the opposition bowlers and can give tough competition in the opening match of the series.

Kagiso Rabada will be a nightmare for the Indian batters. However, Kagiso Rabada might have difficulties while bowling against KL Rahul and Virat Kohli, as they can counter his attack at ease.

Their pace bowling will definitely challenge India: Wasim Jaffer

Ahead of the first Test against South Africa, Wasim Jaffer has shared his thoughts to Cricket Next and said, "South Africa has a decent fast bowling attack, there is no doubt it (on Tuesday, CSA said that fast bowler Anrich Nortje has been ruled out of the series because of a recurring hit related injury). Rabada is one of the best. They have sufficient quality."

"Their pace bowling will definitely challenge India. But their batting is not the same it was before. Nonetheless, it will be a challenging tour for India," said Wasim Jaffer.

"The Indian fast bowling is very experienced now. Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Shami have a lot of experience. I have been saying that if India scores 400 plus, it is more likely that it will win matches. The challenge is for the batters to put scores on the board," he added.

" In 2018, Virat was the only one who got the runs. Now, India’s batting is more balanced in the top six. Rishabh (Pant) can change the game if he bats for one or one and a half hours," he further added.
