T20 World Cup Pakistan's Rizwan Malik with Flu May miss semifinals against Australia

Dubai: A big blow for Pakistan, opener Mohammad Rizwan and middle-class batter Shoaib Malik are sick with the flu and could miss the team's semi-final against Australia in the ongoing ICC T20 Men's World Cup here on Thursday. According to a report in the Pakistani Geo News, both Malik and Rizwan did not show up for training on the eve of the semifinals due to flu. Both tested negative for Covid-19, but the doctor advised them to rest.

After three weeks of intense fighting between the best T20 teams in the world, the current ICC T20 World Cup in 2021 has come to an end - the semi-finals. But the Pakistani cricket team may have got into trouble ahead of the semi-final match against Pakistan at the Dubai International Stadium.

It added that the players were tested for COVID-19 but the results were negative to the relief of Pakistani fans. The final decision on their inclusion will be made before the game and if they are declared unfit for the semifinals it will be a major blow to the Pakistani cricket team.

Considering that Pakistan played with the same team in all 5 games, balancing the team combination for the high-octane clash will be a huge challenge. If the duo fails, Haider Ali and Sarfaraz Ahmed will join the eleven.

Pakistan will hit the horns with Australia on Thursday at 7 p.m. Pakistan Standard Time. The winner of the game will face New Zealand, who defeated England in today's semifinals in Abu Dhabi. For the first time ever, the Kiwis have qualified for the final of the T20 World Cup.
