T Natarajan doubtful for England T20Is with injury

The Indian fast bowler, T Natarajan might not be available for the first T20I of the five-match series against England on March 12. The upcoming T20I series to be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

He made his debut in all three formats during the tour of Australia. The pacer troubled the Aussies across all the formats but he could not make it to the final squad for the Tests against England.

However, he was later picked for the five-match T20I series against the same team. But, he is currently undergoing rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy at Bengaluru.

According to the reports, the NCA informed the team management about his unavailability at least until 12th March. However, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is yet to announce officially on pacer's fitness.

T Natarajan had a successful tour of Australia:

The left-arm pacer was not even on the list of net bowlers when the Indian team toured Australia. But, he was roped in as a replacement for Varun Chakravarthy who sustained an injury.

“I am very happy. This is my first trip to Australia. Delighted that I performed well against a good side. I can’t express my feelings in words, I am extremely happy with my performance. I didn’t expect a lot from this series. I initially came in as a net bowler,” Natarajan said.

Natarajan was included in the ODI squad when his senior pacer, Mohammed Shami was rested from the 3rd ODI. He went on to make his T20I and Test debut in the same as well and became the first player to do so.

“After an injury (to Varun Chakravarthy), I got an opportunity and I wanted to utilise it well. I was in good form in the IPL that came in handy. Also, everyone motivated me very well here. They gave me a lot of support and that gave me the confidence to do well,” he added.
