Shaheen Afridi, Abid Ali & Hasan Ali achieve the best test rankings of their careers

Hasan Ali, who had figures of five for 51 and two for 52, has vaulted five places to 11th in latest ICC rankings for Test bowlers

Pakistani stars made big leaps in the ICC Test player rankings after a convincing win over Bangladesh in the first Test. Pakistan's ace in the left arm, Shaheen Afridi, experienced great improvements together with sailor Hasan Ali and opening player Abid Ali and achieved their best placings in their career after outstanding performances in the game.

Hasan Ali rocked the Bangladeshi batting unit in the first innings, taking his fifth five-wicket haul of the year. Hasan's great return to test cricket has seen him steadily climb the bowler rankings and the 27-year-old now ranks 11th in the world.

Shaheen took a great five-wicket haul in Bangladesh's second innings and helped Pakistan keep their opponents down to a low total. His great performance earned him three places in the rankings and the lanky pacemaker with the left arm is now number 5 in the world rankings.

Abid Ali put in an exceptional performance in the friendly too, scoring a century in the first innings and an exquisite half century in the second innings. The opener also achieved his best ranking of his career and is now the 20th best test battery in the world.

Meanwhile, the Pakistani captain, Babar Azam, couldn't worry the writers much in the first test and fell to eighth place. Wicket-Keeper-Batter Mohammad Rizwan and Middle-Order-Batter Azhar Ali lost some places and are now in places 21 and 22 respectively.

Pakistan's opening strikes were not the ones left behind. Abid Ali may have missed a century on each inning, but his scores of 133 and 91 helped him move 27 places to a 20th.
